CGU derives its mandate under Section 5 of the PECG Act.

The Unit is administered by a responsible Minister who is Vice President, Hon Gen. (Rtd) Dr CGDN Chiwenga who is also responsible for the Government’s State Enterprises and Economic Cluster.

In terms of section 5(2) of the PECG Act, CGU is headed by a Permanent Secretary and consists of other members of management and staff who are part of the Civil Service.
